#### (A) Selection of media

Pleat depth, d= 50 mm
Pleat size, = 100mm
No of pleats per ft = 11 folds per RFT.
Calculations for filter size, 600x 600 x50 mm
No of pleats (Folds ) in 600 mm = 0.600 *11*3.28=21.64 nos. say 22 nos
Allowing for one fold at each end of media extra for clamping/ fixing to frame.
No of folds in panel = 24 nos.
Length of media =24x0.100= 2.4 RM or 2.4x 3.28 = 7.87 RFT
Area of filter media = width of panel x Running Length of media
= 0.600 M x 2.4 RM = 1.44 M3, or 1.44 x 3.28x3.28
= 1.44 x 10.76 sq ft
= 15.49 sq. ft.

We select HIGH LOFT FILTER MEDIA , quality 269 F, polyester , having Air Permeability of 7000 CMH/ SQ. M at 5.0 mm W G.

Face Velocity

Required face velocity
= 7000/60x60 : 0,600x0.600
= 1.95 :.36
= 5.27 m/s

= 500 FPM ( feet per minute )
= 500 : 3.28 X 60 = 2.54 m/s
Hence media selected is ok

Approximate no of spacers, S , required=L/ H or 8.38/ 0.1524= 55 nos
Approximate no of pleats, N , required= S/2 = 55 / 2 ( FOLDS ) 27 nos
Considering physical width of spacers, no of pleates should = 23 or 24 nos
